Year End Reflections
Greetings in Jesus' name my friends and colleagues in Christ most precious work. The following is a DM 2010 overview of outreach.
I always like to take time at the end of the year to review my calendar to see how privileged we were to do God’s work again.
There was no slack time as God shifted our international outreach from Kenya to Haiti at least for the time being. I visited the island three times, leading a small delegation with Randy Byers (Our missions director) my second time over. We witnessed an abundance of Salvation while we gave hope to these desperate people. Our ministry was used once again to feed thousands of people that find themselves starving on this island. We also encouraged a group of pastors at Petit Goave and touched the hearts of many children through our VBS that was organized and led by Glenda Caprini.
Between Randy Byers ( Our mission director) and I, we did over ten festival/revival/renewal outings. This includes our “local Fayette County projects” outreach as well as spreading the Gospel throughout the Western part of the State. Our ministry also did ten mission presentations, as well as two blessing of the bike services at Jumonville.
We continued having our once a month healing services at Chalk Hill UMC. It saddens me to hear that they ended upon my retirement from the Charge. .
Our local food pantry assists over 50 families meet their monthly food allocations. Looking forward to seeing this number grow even more next year.
As always Char Rose Farms was used as an instrument of our ministry Some highlights were Fire On The Mountain, Tom’s Festival and Meghan McCarty’s graduation party. This year we built a 9 hole Frisbee golf course which was designed by Rob Watts and constructed by Mr. Terry McCarty.
During the course of the year we were able to purchase a beautiful 25 passenger bluebird bus that we are anxious to send to Pastor Eddy Sainville so he can utilize it to grow his church in Haiti. We also were able to contribute $15,000 to purchase a little over an acre of ground to build a community center in Petit Goave, Haiti.
Last but not least, another highlight for me, was being called to shepherd Family of Faith Outreach in Markleysburg. Have been doing this since Oct and the church is truly being blessed and growing. They will make a great partner with us. I can’t wait to see how God uses us this year together.
Finally once again we had over 250,000 hits on our web site. I am hoping this will exceed 300,000 this coming year.
Godspeed to you all,
Terry Collins
