Widows Community
Widows waiting in a food lineAs president of Discipleship Ministries allow me to extend to you a very warm greeting in Jesus’ name. I hope you had wonderful holiday celebrations with your families and your church this year knowing that Jesus is the reason for the season. We did and it is time for us to get back to work praying and planning our next years outreach.
We would love to come to your church, your women’s group or your Bible Study and share our ministry experiences with you. One of our major outreaches occur in Kenya, Africa, working with desperate widows and orphans. These two indigenous groups are considered unimportant and worthless in their society and the church can not reach out to them because of the poverty within their body. As a result many of them are starving to death with no help or hope in the future. There were over 40 children that died from starvation two weeks before we arrived this past year. We have been feeding these beloved people every time we go there but it just isn‘t enough. Our prayer is to help them become self sufficient by building a “Widows and Orphans Christian Community” to help these precious people obtain this goal. We are working with the village chief, the district Bishop and Hope of Salvation Church striving to make this happen. The chief’s vision is that this will become a model community that will be used by other villages to do the same thing. We will purchase a small track of land, seed for the gardens, milk cows, goats, chickens and two sewing machines that will allow this community to take care of themselves and trade for other commodities they will need to survive.
We would love to visit your group and share our story and vision with you. Our hope is that we can build a mighty group of partners here in America to make this happen. To schedule a presentation please contact us
